Are these words pronounced as they look in English? Do you know what the Tagalog alphabet is?
You have a good start by learning greetings. I don't know any Tagalog but I was hoping to learn some here, too. Actually, I heard that the word for fork in tagalog is the same as for spanish, "tenedor" but that's it's written as "tinidor" so I guess that could be another word you can add to your list, if it's right.

and online says that "how do you say" in tagalog is PAANO MO SASABIHIN SA TAGALOG ANG...
I got it from this site: http://www.italki.com/answers/question/399.htm

What it is tagalog??

 :thinkingalot:
Alice:Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?
Cheshire Cat:That depends a good deal on where you want to get to.
]Alice:I don't much care where--
Cheshire Cat:Then it doesn't matter which way you go
Alice:--so long as I get SOMEWHERE
Cheshire Cat:Oh, you're sure to do that....if you only walk long enough.

:D I think it's awesome that you guys want to learn. This is supposed to be my home language, but I suck at it. >.>;

However, if there's anything you want me to help you out with, I'll try.

Ahaha, you taught me "Salamat", DS!
and ...you're probably better at Tagalog, than I at Khmer (spoken in Cambodia), my "home language".

I can speak Tagalog very well, though I have a hard time with the 'complicated' words. :D
So I often speak fluent english or taglish.

The alphabet of Tagalog is called Abakada. :D

Regarding Mahalkita, it should be: Mahal kita. ^^
Mahal is for love and kita is for you.

Kita can be see or sales.

Here's a vid to see our alphabet: http://www.wonderhowto.com/how-to-sing-abakada-abc-song-tagalog-168372/

Wow. That was short. How many letters are in the Abakada?
How do I say "How are you?"

How do I say "How are you?"

The answer: 20 letters (i think ^^; )

Translation for How Are You is: Kamusta ka?

But Abakada isn't used much nowadays, we're currently using the 'Modern Filipino alphabet'.

And, oh, regarding this:
Kumusta- Hello

This isn't true. There's no word as kumusta, it's probably kamusta but kamusta doesn't mean hello. ^^;;

What's the "Modern Filipino alphabet"? How does it differ from Abakada and why was Abakada phased out?
Is "Kamusta ka" pronounced the way it looks in English?

Abakada has a few letters as you can see, making us limited, lol.

Taken from Wiki:
A - "A"
B - "Ba"
K - "Ka"
D - "Da"
E - "E"
G - "Ga"
H - "Ha"
I - "I"
L - "La"
M - "Ma"
N - "Na"
NG - "Nga"
O - "O"
P - "Pa"
R - "Ra"
S - "Sa"
T - "Ta"
U - "U"
W - "Wa"
Y - "Ya"

As you can see, there's no Q, C, V and other letters in the normal alphabet has. Here's a link of Filipino Alphabet History: http://tagaloglang.com/The-Philippines/Language/modern-filipino-alphabet.html

Yes, Kamusta ka is pronounced like that in English as well. ^^ But nowadays, Pinoy Youth prefer to use 'Musta Na/Ka?' than Kamusta ka.

And here's some other phrases as well:
I hate you - Galit ako sayo
I don't love you anymore - Di na kita mahal
I don't like you - Ayoko sayo
Awesome - Galing but nowadays youth use Astig.

Galing can be any word of admiration such as cool and things like those.
