Alice:Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?
Cheshire Cat:That depends a good deal on where you want to get to.
]Alice:I don't much care where--
Cheshire Cat:Then it doesn't matter which way you go
Alice:--so long as I get SOMEWHERE
Cheshire Cat:Oh, you're sure to do that....if you only walk long enough.

Just those.  Well, there are some capitalization problems too, but every single other person on this forum seems to have that, so don't worry about it...

I understand Indonesian as it is where I live. What I'm gonna do if I don't understand it...

I consider myself good enough in English. I know Malay too since it's quite close with Indonesian. I can do Japanese though I still won't call myself expert in it. I can talk and hear Mandarin a little but can't read it at all.

I do wish to learn Italian one day though (for Reborn!)

I'm so envious. You already know five languages and you're learning a sixth already. I want to be like you.

Hrm...well, my first language is English...I picked up Spanish (northern Mexican and Guatemalan) starting around four years old, and am somewhat decent with it...I understand Italian, German, and French, even though I don't speak a word of any of them.     I took a semester of (Mandarin) Chinese, but it only serves to confuse me when the hanzi I learned are different than the kanji I've been focusing on more recently...  3uys:

I'm currently working on my Japanese...which is probably okay, but a little stiff.  I need to work on some of the more colloquial expressions...goddess, I'm booky...     :cloud:  I should get on that, as I plan to move to Japan some time in the next year or two...

Eventually I hope to add Tagalog, Irish Gaelic, and maybe Finnish (but probably not).  Maybe a little bit of Chinese would help eventually, too.  I like languages, if you couldn't tell  :yaay:

Well, the best way to learn a lot of colloquial Japanese is to watch lots of anime. ^_^ (In my opinion, anyways...xD)

Yeah I picked up a little. I'm hoping manga will help too

Do you have ANY idea how hard it is to find manga in the original Japanese in Minnesota?  I think I might have the only tankouban in the state!   :dotty:

It is my great shame as a computer geek to admit that I often have problems navigating those sites... :mecha:
